The Tinker Hatfield design, the first basketball shoe to use patent leather, served as the basis for the Air Jordan 1 Low "Concord." It has mesh tongues that match the white leather upper bases. Crisp white laces and a tongue complete the brighter look above, while the heel's unique addition—an embroidered winged insignia—is encircled by pitch-black panelling.
Contrasting black patent leather Swooshes and overlays serve as accent features. The Jumpman logos on the tongues, the Wings branding on the back, and the printed insoles are further branding components of the Jordan 1 Low SE Concord. White midsoles and transparent, frosty rubber outsoles elevate the footwear.
The Air Jordan 1 Low was originally released in several colourways, mirroring the High releases and served as a casual take on the signature high-top. Apart from basketball players, there was another group who immediately took to the AJ1 Low – skateboarders. The skateboarders found that the low-top was more comfortable for tricks.
