Sneakers made of cotton, nylon or polyester are safe to wash, if you take care to use a mild cleaning solution. You can also use warm water and baking soda to scrub off most dirt from your sneakers. For leather and leather-like materials, it is better to use a specific leather cleaning solution.

How can I make my sneakers shine?

You can make your sneakers shine by applying a layer of sneaker polish over your clean sneakers. Vaseline or petroleum jelly is also a commonly-used solution.
