The Air Jordan 5 Retro 'Black University Blue' returns for 2026 after a 20-year hiatus, reviving a colorway that originally released in 2006 as part of Jordan Brand's Lifestyle Series. A black nubuck upper with white contrast stitching throughout gives way to University Blue accents on the sock liner, tongue lining, and shark-tooth midsole detailing, finished off with an icy translucent outsole.
The design carries the DNA of the 'Black Metallic' AJ5 with a University of North Carolina-inspired twist, a nod to Michael Jordan's college roots. A 3M reflective tongue keeps the signature AJ5 flash intact, while the shark-tooth midsole and lace lock system remain true to Tinker Hatfield's original fighter jet-inspired design. The pair returns in full-family sizing.
