The Air Jordan 5 Retro T23 'Tokyo' first released in 2011 to mark the opening of the Jordan Tokyo23 boutique in Japan, instantly becoming a grail due to its extreme rarity. The 2025 reissue returns for the 35th anniversary of the AJ5, drawing on both that original release and an unreleased 'Yellow Toe' sample that surfaced from the same era.
A bold Varsity Maize yellow nubuck upper anchors the design, contrasted by Wolf Grey accents on the tongue, side netting, and eyelets, with black detailing on the laces, heel, and shark-tooth midsole. A reflective metallic silver tongue and speckled midsole keep the AJ5's signature details intact, while an embroidered Kanji character on the heel, merging Michael Jordan's '23' with Japanese characters, ties the design to its Tokyo origins.
